(June 25)(NEW YORK) -- Shares of electrical equipment companies closed lower as the broader market fell after the Conference Board said consumer confidence fell sharply in June, while crude prices settled higher.
In industry news, a Credit Suisse analyst downgraded shares of Emerson Electric Co. to "Neutral" from "Outperform," saying shares trade at a premium to its peers.
Here's how some shares of electrical equipment makers performed:
Emerson Electric Co. lost $2.66, or 5 percent, to $50.97.
Cooper Industries Ltd. fell 73 cents to $41.15.
Graftech International Ltd. slid 32 cents to $25.69.
Commscope Inc. gave up 92 cents to $53.
